"An Absolute Corker!" - ASL Review

"An Absolute Corker!" - ASL Review

"Erasmus James & the Galactic Zapp Machine" Review by Tim Fisher, Australia’s Surfing Life magazine.

"Had a flick through any kids books lately? Nope? There’s a bloody good reason. Sure, some of ‘em are great, but there’s a ton that aren’t. Don’t even get me started on that bloody Hazza Potter and his gang of ridiculous witches, or whatever they are.

"Erasmus James, on the other hand, is full of ninja horses, mutant chooks and more ridiculously original nonsense from the fevered brain of original Tubequest warrior DC Green, gonzo surf writer extraordinaire. Writing compelling character studies of inbred South Oz locals or blow-by-blow accounts of Mick Fanning’s St Leu celebrations might be one thing, but writing a kid’s book and making it funny, is a different kettle of milk altogether.

"With the Galactic Zapp machine, DC has pulled off an absolute corker."

    D.C. Green -

You were (are?) the best surf journalist in the world. So this is why you haven't been in the surf mags lately? You're writing for grommets! Good luck mate, I'll miss your classic surf stories, but if anyone can beat harry Potter, it's you! Now I'm off to score a copy of your weird sounding book!!

The difference between JK Rowlings and DC Green is that DC is way sexier and cooler and his book is more thrilling than Harry Potter....
And I go for men, not women.

So! When's the movie or TV show coming out?

i think its horrible that you have discredited a series of books that have inspired children to read and still are. And anyway harry potter isnt just for children and if it were than your in no place to discredit it because you are not a child, so therefore would not aprichiate the books (i know i spelled that wrong) Harry potter has connected children everywhere in wondering what the next book will bring and if you actually read the books instead of just flicking through then im sure you would understand that too!

    Hi Anonymous,

Whoa... don't get so heated! The above review was written in Australia's Surfing Life magazine; not by me. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I doubt that review will harm the sales of harry Potter books!

For the record, I've read all the Harry Potter books and so have my kids. I enjoy them, but I don't think they are the best kids' books in the world (and nor do my kids). But I'm stoked JK Rowling has got so many kids reading.

    Cheers,

    DC

Yer, harry potter IS the best books in the world, better than anything else, I believe: all these other adult writers that are jealous of JK Rowling, focus on in their articles about it is the writing style, or run on sentences: a few perfect sentences of Harry Potter didn't sell 450 million copies!! And why are they even writing articles about those things with HP anwyay?? Do they really have a place to be doing it??
